Too Rough a Guide

From the “Rough Guide to the Caribbean”

An incredible variety of diverse islands each with their own character……………..

To set the record straight, here’s my guide.

Antigua Fairly flat, with some very nice beaches. Lots of shops selling jewellery, watches and cameras.

St Lucia Very hilly, with some very nice beaches. Lots of shops selling jewellery, watches and cameras.

Grenada Reasonably hilly, with some very nice beaches. Lots of shops selling jewellery, watches, cameras and spices.

Martinique Fairly hilly, with some very nice beaches. As the island is French, the shops that would sell jewellery, watches and cameras were closed.

St Thomas Quite hilly, with some very nice beaches. US passengers get an extra $1200 duty free allowance to spend on this island, where there are lots of shops selling jewellery, watches, cameras and liquor.

Nassau, Bahamas Not really a caribbean island as such, Nassau is, however, the island to stock up on duty free jewellery, watches and cameras before returning to the USA.

As you can see, every island is completely different………………
